Benjamin Leroux, Savigny Beaune Rouge Vintage:2015 glossy but buoyant palate adds The understated and equally glossy but buoyant palate adds an animating tang of seedy white currant that sets up an invigorating and dynamic counterpoint with the wine’s sweetness and with the faintly jellied aspects of quince and mirabelle that feature alongside their fresh fruit expressions leather and tar flavors grace the palate Note that I would suggest decanting this if you’re going to open a bottle young There is enough reduction to suppress the underlying fruit though there is very good density to the subtle mineral inflected flavors that deliver excellent length for a villages level wine on the balanced if mildly rustic finish
